Community Calendar

The Office of Affirmative Action hosts a "Community Calendar" as an effort to increase community outreach. The events are in the Northwest Arkansas community and surrounding areas.

Free Resume Review Sessions
The Fayetteville Public Library will host resume review sessions on the first and second Thursdays of the month for the remainder of the year.  Ellen Bruce will review and provide feedback on resumes during the drop-in feedback sessions.  The review sessions will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library’s Reading Room, located on the library’s second floor.  The review sessions are free and open to the public.  Reservations are not available.  For more information, call the Reference Desk at 479-856.7250.

MLK Scholarships - Due 11/20/09

The Northwest Arkansas Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Planning Committee annually awards scholarships to deserving high school, undergraduate, graduate and professional students.Attached are the application forms for the respective student populations.  Students must submit the appropriate application form. This scholarship is limited to students enrolled at the University of Arkansas or high schools in Benton and Washington counties. Send completed applications to: nwamlkscholar@yahoo.com

AKA Scholarships - Due 2/5/2010
The Phi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., annually awards the Dionne Harold Memorial Scholarship to qualifying high school students.  For the 2009-2010 academic school year, the Phi Alpha Omega Chapter awarded over $23,000 in scholarships.  This scholarship is limited to students enrolled in high schools in Benton and Washington counties, and Fort Smith.

11th Annual Celebrity Waiter - "An Evening in Monte Carlo"
 
The Phi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Tea Rose Foundation of NWA will present the 11th Annual Celebrity Waiter on November 21, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers .  Please join us as we highlight  nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Arkansas.  This year's theme is "An Evening in Monte Carlo," and sponsorship opportunities are available.
